C2IMPRESS's partners Rui A. P. Perdigão and Julia Hall from Synergistic Manifolds Unipessoal LDA (MET) will be presenting their paper on ‘Augmented Information Physical Systems Intelligence (AIPSI) for enhanced spatiotemporal early detection, attribution, prediction and decision support on multi-hazards’ at the European Geosciences Union (EGU) general assembly on 23-28 April 2023 in Vienna, Austria.

Rui and Julia will introduce and illustrate the recent development of Augmented Information Physical Systems Intelligence (AIPSI), Information Physical Artificial Intelligence (IPAI), and Earth System Dynamical Intelligence (ESDI). It’s worth mentioning that the theory and methods of IPAI, ESDI, and most recently, AIPSI were originally developed by Rui and Julia.

The systems intelligence frameworks developed by Rui and Julia entail a more natural, visceral form of intelligence developed and optimised from scratch as a disruptive sentient organic platform much closer to how nature works and hence much faster, realistic and energy efficient than state-of-the-art IT platforms, classical or quantum. As such, unlike AI and other systems intelligence approaches dependent on the data that they are fed with to produce patterns and generate many sibling outcomes that share similar statistics/features to those of the original data (learned from the training datasets), it goes beyond that both mathematically and technologically with our augmented vision allowing to detect and generate beyond what a priori AI training would make possible. This advancement will ensure improved spatiotemporal early detection, forecasting and decision support for multi-hazards developed by the C2IMPRESS project.

The abstract for the paper can be accessed here.

The EGU General Assembly 2023 brings together geoscientists worldwide, covering all earth, planetary, and space sciences disciplines. The EGU aims to provide a forum where scientists, especially early career researchers, can present their work and discuss their ideas with experts in all fields of geoscience.

At C2IMPRESS project, Synergistic Manifolds Unipessoal LDA (MET) is leading the development of the System-of-systems (SoS) Earth System Dynamic Intelligence (ESDI) platform and the Multi-Hazard Risk intelligence network (MHRIN).
